Main Area of Responsibility

Managing the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices and expenses are processed accurately and paid on time whilst adhering to processes and managing risk. The role is also responsible for managing supplier accounts including statements and reconciliations.

Accountability

• Processing supplier invoices and credit notes through the system accurately including correct departments, nominal codes and VBUs in a timely manner
• Ensure that the approvals process is adhered to and all invoices and expenses are received and compliant before payment
• Provide POs to suppliers and reconcile to invoices where required
• Preparing payment runs including the identification of invoices for payment, uploading to the bank portal and providing remittances to suppliers
• Processing staff expenses ensuring accurate coding including management of the Barclaycard statements
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Setting up new accounts and verification of bank details where required including working with procurement
• Maintaining and developing good relationships with suppliers including managing queries or disputes to resolution
• Work with the finance manager to ensure accruals are accurate and substantiated
• Ensuring the purchase ledger is reconciled and up to date
• Any other reasonable duties as requested by management

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous purchase ledger experience required
• A thorough understanding of the purchase to pay process including controls and risks
• Experience of working with MS Word and Excel is essential
• Experience of NetSuite is a bonus but not essential
• Strong communication skills and the ability to own processes and use initiative
