DevOps Engineer - Hybrid Cloud/Bare Metal Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to help manage our hybrid infrastructure environment that spans both cloud and bare metal systems. The ideal candidate will streamline our infrastructure automation, improve deployment processes, and maintain system reliability while working with our technology stack that includes Python and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using a combination of cloud services and

on-premises hardware

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible
  • Containerize applications and manage container orchestration with Docker
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support development workflows
  • Write and maintain Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and infrastructure management
  • Set up, optimize, and manage PostgreSQL databases across environments
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
  • Document infrastructure architecture, processes, and procedures
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or System Administration roles
  • Strong proficiency with Docker containerization and container management
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible
  • Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database administration and optimization
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and bare metal infrastructure
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and observability platforms
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Familiarity with additional scripting languages (Bash)
  • Experience with configuration management tools beyond Ansible
  • Experience with PostgreSQL high availability configurations and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of Python frameworks (particularly Django)
  • Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, Linux, PostgreSQL)
