Aga Khan University is recruiting a Phlebotomist - Home Phlebotomy Services based in Hyderabad, Pakistan.
The successful candidate will be responsible to:
- Verify each patient's identification and check lab test requisition slips and patient's status through verbal questioning to ensure that the test requirements for collection of correct samples are fulfilled.
- Perform accurate and gentle vein puncture procedures to collect blood and inject the same into the specific containers according to the test requirements to provide quality services.
- Label each patient's sample container before collection of specimen according to the laboratory protocols to avoid mix-up of specimens.
- Follow safety precautions at all times, including disposing of sharp objects in sharp containers and maintaining a clean work area.
- Explain phlebotomy procedures to patients for both special and routine lab tests according to the lab testing requirements and protocols to ensure collection of correct samples using the right method.
- Make home visits to collect patient samples as needed.
