Job Responsibilities

Operational Risk Assessment of Branches/Units and Bank Policies & Procedures Reviews

Execute operational risk assessments of business units by visiting sample units to oversee the effectiveness of controls. Collaborate with Business & Functions representatives to gather control and risk metrics for monitoring Operational Risk KRIs. Conduct periodic reviews of bank policies, procedures, and products to identify gaps and ensure compliance with regulations, proposing banking best practices proactively. Prepare risk assessment reports based on data analysis. Ensure effective implementation and annual updating of risk registers, KRIs, KPIs, and internal control sample testing across the bank/units. Periodically review assessments to reflect environmental changes, control measures, and progress of mitigation plans. Use mathematical and statistical techniques to develop risk models supporting operational risk management.

Development & Implementation of Incident Reporting, Loss Database & Risk Management Tools

Develop mechanisms for incident reporting and loss databases covering all bank-wide near-misses and losses. Report and escalate significant operational risk events. Quantify operational risk using incident and loss data modeling. Conduct root cause analysis for relevant events and communicate updates to the Chief Risk Officer and senior management. Finalize due diligence for the Ubank Goldsmith Panel/surveyors and develop a database to record panelist movements comprehensively.

Awareness & Training

Conduct awareness and training sessions at assigned branches.

Reporting, Record/Data Maintenance

Prepare and maintain reports for all assigned tasks, including special projects.

Technical Competency and Skills

Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication, team-building, and management skills. Possess good time management skills. Have sound knowledge of Ubank products, processes, and policies. Exhibit problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Adaptability is essential.

Experience and Qualification

Minimum Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Economics, or related fields. Preferably 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, risk management, or banking industry roles.
