Job Title: Operational Risk Manager

As an operational risk manager, you will oversee the effectiveness of controls at various units and review bank policies and procedures. You will conduct operational risk assessments by visiting sample units to identify potential risks and collaborate with business representatives to gather data for monitoring operational risk KPIs.

Additionally, you will conduct periodic reviews of bank policies, procedures, and products to identify gaps and ensure compliance with regulations. You will propose best practices proactively and prepare risk assessment reports based on data analysis.

You will also ensure effective implementation and annual updating of risk registers, KRIs, KPIs, and internal control sample testing across the bank/units. Furthermore, you will periodically review assessments to reflect environmental changes, control measures, and progress of mitigation plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanisms for incident reporting and loss databases covering all near-misses and losses.
  • Report and escalate significant operational risk events and quantify operational risk using incident and loss data modeling.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for relevant events and communicate updates to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, team-building, and management skills.
  • Good time management skills and sound knowledge of bank processes and policies.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities and adaptability.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Preferably 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, risk management, or banking industry roles.
