We are a UK-based accountancy firm looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting accurate and timely payroll processing for a range of clients.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly and monthly payrolls, including gross wages and deductions.

Prepare and submit PAYE and HMRC returns in line with deadlines.

Handle statutory payments (SSP, SMP) and pension submissions.

Reconcile payroll accounts and maintain accurate records.

Support the preparation of P45s, P60s, variance reports, and payroll analysis.

Liaise with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.

Investigate and resolve payroll queries efficiently.

Requirements

Prior experience in UK payroll processing.

Good knowledge of PAYE, HMRC guidelines, and statutory payments.

Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.

Familiarity with auto-enrolment and pension schemes is a plus.
