JOB SUMMARY:

Solution Architects are hands-on leaders responsible for designing scalable, production-grade systems while guiding senior engineers through complex challenges. They should have deep expertise in Node.js, AWS, and modern frontend frameworks, shaping technical architecture, ensuring system reliability, and aligning engineering solutions with business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle difficult tasks directly and guide senior engineers with solutions and assistance.
  • Be the go-to expert for solving team issues.
  • Design, document, and implement core solution-based components for the software team, e.g., message-based communication architecture.
  • Develop software features within the system, such as a PIM-based processing system to run 2k+ jobs in parallel.
  • Implement scalable solutions that do not need rewriting, capable of scaling 2/5/10x+.
  • Lead teams of 5-10+ resources in production environments for 10+ years while contributing directly to the codebase.
  • Communicate fluently in English, with excellent communication skills to understand complex technical issues and summarize them clearly.
  • Possess business acumen to understand technical and business needs, and architect solutions that advance the company.
  • Maintain a 4-hour overlap with MST, with flexibility for meetings as needed.
  • Provide on-call production support, working with DevOps to establish coverage, communicate issues, and troubleshoot outages.
  • Work with CST & Support for engineering escalation tickets.
  • Contribute directly to coding complex tasks and features to enhance quality and throughput.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish processes, architecture, and software backlog.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of production-level experience in software development, focusing on backend (Node.js, Express.js, Nest.js) and frontend (React.js, Next.js) technologies, with architecture design skills.
  • Expertise in Node.js with at least 10+ years of production experience.
  • Proficiency in AWS, DocumentDB or MongoDB, SQL databases, cache systems (e.g., Redis), GIT, containers, Linux/command shells, scripting, and regular expressions.
