Team Leader - Trade Operations (Mashreq Global Network Pakistan)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of export LC advising, amendment processing, and confirmations.
  • Monitor transactions for regulatory compliance (e.g., AML, Sanctions).
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to team members.
  • Coordinate with relationship managers, credit teams, and correspondent banks to ensure smooth transaction flow.
  • Liaise with clients, advising banks, negotiating banks, and internal departments (e.g., Relationship Managers, Compliance).
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Monitor transaction turnaround time (TAT), resolve escalations, and support audit and compliance; ensure high service standards in document handling and communication.
  • Multi-discipline, multi-cultural workforce involving financial and non-financial processes across UAE & IBG.
  • Understand and interpret ICC publications; stay abreast of global compliance scenarios, Trade Based Money Laundering, and geopolitical situations.
  • Manage customers' expectations, contribute to ideation and automation projects.
  • Participate in team huddles and collaborate to provide solutions to issues; ensure fast-track implementation of solutions with onshore unit for seamless client delivery.
  • Ensure efficient processing of transactions, adherence to service standards and quality for internal and external customers.
  • Act as final checker of import/export bills documents and ensure consistency of document examination standards among checkers.
  • Reinforce compliance with manuals and procedures during transaction processing.
  • Recommend actions related to changes in law, ICC Rules, government regulations, and bank policies affecting import/export transactions.
  • Take corrective and preventive actions based on customer complaints, operations errors, and quality/RCSA analysis; escalate issues as needed.
  • Demonstrate managerial capability to lead a team.
