About the Role

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Head of Data Science to drive the development of cutting-edge AI systems while playing a key role in pre-sales, sales, and client engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Agentic-AI systems, LLMs, Applied AI, Computer Vision, Predictive Modeling, and Python-based backends, while also possessing the ability to identify AI/ML use cases for clients, contribute to sales efforts, and lead a team of AI engineers.

Key Responsibilities

AI/ML & Data Science Development

• Design, develop, and deploy Agentic AI systems.
• Fine-tune and train large language models (LLMs) to create applied AI solutions tailored to business needs.
• Develop predictive models, statistical methods, and data science solutions for business applications.
• Apply computer vision techniques to solve domain-specific problems.
• Architect and implement backend systems using Python frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask.
• Ensure high-quality code by conducting code reviews for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Work closely with the sales team to identify AI/ML and Data Science use cases for clients.
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including technical discovery calls, proposal writing, and solution demonstrations.
• Develop and present technical proposals, architecture blueprints, and proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions to potential clients.
• Collaborate with business teams to align AI/ML solutions with client needs and showcase AI-driven business value.
• Assist in estimating project timelines, resource allocation, and feasibility during the sales cycle.

AI Strategy, Team Leadership & Growth

• Define and drive the company's AI strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Build and expand the AI/ML team by identifying hiring needs, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with front-end, back-end, DevOps, and cloud teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Define best practices, coding standards, and AI/ML development workflows for the organisation.
• Deploy AI/ML models on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
• Optimise AI model deployment pipelines and containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

Client & Project Management

• Engage with clients to understand their AI/ML needs and provide technical consultation.
• Lead client calls, technical workshops, and presentations to ensure clear communication of AI/ML strategies.
• Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in AI/ML, Data Science, or related fields.
• Proven expertise in RAG-based systems, LLM fine-tuning, and AI Agents.
• Hands-on experience with predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and applied AI methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask).
• Deep understanding of computer vision techniques and frameworks (OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience in architecting scalable AI/ML systems integrated into larger software ecosystems.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for AI/ML deployment.
• Strong background in big data processing, distributed computing, and real-time data streaming using technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow for scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Hands-on experience with ML lifecycle tools (e.g., MLflow) and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) to optimize AI model deployment and performance.
• Ability to identify AI/ML use cases for businesses and translate client requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong experience in pre-sales, proposal writing, and client engagement.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven leadership experience in building and mentoring AI teams.
