Position: Executive IT - BSS Operations
Location: Islamabad
Reporting to: Lead Expert IT BSS Operations
Job Type: Permanent
Job Purpose:
- This role is responsible for the operations of the BSS Stack System to support the organization's business smoothly.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive operational activities of the BSS platform.
- Responsible for detailed change assessment & enhancing visibility of new products to Level 1 team.
- Manage channel operations including inventory management and commissions.
- Handle configuration & coordination related to Mediation functions (MSC, SCP, SMSC, and other external nodes), outsource distribution configuration, IR partners, control development, and resolution of IR operational issues.
- Develop processes and SOPs for smooth BSS operation.
- Lead analysis-based optimization initiatives, identify gaps, and provide visibility into areas of improvement.
- Coordinate between teams, drive issue resolution involving vendors/stakeholders.
- Track pending issues, follow up, ensure KPIs are met, and handle complaints promptly.
- Maintain a list of issues being resolved or pending that may affect customers.
- Develop weekly management updates on the health of BSS operations.
- Monitor newly launched products and post-implementation impacts, coordinate, and resolve issues.
- Handle incident & problem management, follow-up with vendors/stakeholders for permanent resolution.
- Act as an interface between planning, operations, and management for changes, releases, deployment, validation, testing, and configuration management.
Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills):
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor's or Master's Degree in IT/Computer Sciences (equivalent to 16 years of education) preferred.
Work Experience:
- 6-9 years of relevant experience required.
Skills – Generic:
- Strong analytical skills, learning agility, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to handle challenging assignments and go the extra mile.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand complex problems and adopt a solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent time management skills and proficiency in MS Office.
Skills – Job Specific:
- Familiarity with operational systems and software used in the telecom industry.
- Knowledge of databases, SQL, scripting, telecom billing systems.
- Technical knowledge of CRM applications, UNIX, and shell scripting.
