The HR Officer will manage core HR operations for a dynamic startup, ensuring compliance with Pakistan's labor laws, overseeing HRIS (Zoho People), leading performance management cycles including 360° evaluations and SMART goal setting, and implementing a Learning Management System (LMS) to support employee development. The ideal candidate will be adept at conflict resolution, employee relations, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Pakistan's labor laws, including employment contracts, statutory benefits, and workplace safety.
- Maintain and update HRIS (preferably Zoho People), including employee records, attendance, and leave management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations, managing grievances and facilitating dispute resolution.
- Lead the 360° performance evaluation cycle: coordinate self-assessments, peer reviews, and manager feedback; facilitate SMART goal setting and approvals.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Implement and manage a Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate employee training, track learning progress, and organize digital learning content for staff development.
- Conduct HR audits and training to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
- Promote and maintain a positive company culture aligned with startup values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years HR experience, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of Pakistan's labor laws and HR compliance.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Zoho People preferred).
- Experience in performance management, including 360° feedback cycles and goal setting.
- Experience with or knowledge of LMS implementation and management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills
- SHRM or local HR certification.
- Experience with digital HR documentation and statutory compliance.
- Fluency in English and Urdu.
Local Terminology
- Familiarity with terms such as EOBI, SESSI, gratuity, and provident fund.
- Knowledge of local HR documentation (e.g., appointment letters, show cause notices).
