The Senior HR Generalist will manage all aspects of human resources in our subsidiary office in Pakistan. As the sole HR professional in this location, you will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong communication with the headquarters in California. This is a hybrid position that works in the Islamabad office at least 3 days per week.

Essential Functions

Under the general supervision of the Vice President, Human Resources, the essential functions include:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for the subsidiary office, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Offboarding: Manage offboarding for the subsidiary office, including participating in notification meetings, administering HR offboarding paperwork, and collaborating with security, finance, and IT departments.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment in the subsidiary office.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and other perks, ensuring consistency with headquarters policies. This includes ongoing administration, annual renewal, and open enrollment events.
  • HR Technology: Manage Elixir's HCM for the subsidiary office, including resolving queries with employees and collaborating with the configuration administrators at the headquarters' office. Create and maintain content on Elixir's HR SharePoint site and on the HCM's Community space.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regional employment laws and regulations, as well as headquarters' policies.
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures to support organizational goals, in coordination with headquarters, including regular updates to the employee handbook.
  • Performance Management: Monitor performance management systems, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans, in alignment with headquarters' standards.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate professional development opportunities for employees in the subsidiary office in alignment with the headquarters.
  • HR Reporting: Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making and strategic planning, and communicate findings to headquarters.
  • Task Force: Represent HR on various task force groups as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Headquarters' HR team and US management as necessary, including attending periodic meetings in the evening or early morning to accommodate for the time zone difference.
  • Auditing: Support external and internal HR audits by assisting in data, document, and evidence collection as needed.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Communication: Excellent English and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to employees and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex HR issues.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work environments.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all HR processes and documentation.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills to guide and influence others within the organization.
Requirements

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of HR experience, with a focus on generalist responsibilities.
  • Experience recruiting and sourcing technical jobs
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred education and experience

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)

Work environment

The work is performed in an office environment and may be distracting at times with others conversing. Work environment could be in Elixir's office, working from home, or a hybrid of both

This position requires hours of computer screen time, hearing, speaking, and sitting or standing at a desk

Expected hours of work

Generally, regular business hours plus some evening hours for global conference calls. Additional hours on weekends or holidays may be required on a seasonal basis to meet business needs.

Travel

This position may, from time to time, participate in local university recruiting and outreach events.
