Join to apply for the Program Lead (TB Shield Pakistan) role at Spiro
- Salary: PKR 2,800,000 - 3,500,000 annually depending on experience
- Job type: Full-time, initially 12 months with strong potential to extend
- Employment and reporting structure: Employed by Momentum Ventures with close coordination from Spiro (the funder)
Did you know tuberculosis is the world's most deadly infectious disease?
At Spiro we stop tuberculosis before it starts. We design and fund TB screening and prevention programs, supporting hospitals with capacity building and reaching communities that need help the most.
We're a small, focused team with a big ambition: to help hundreds of thousands of people avoid a preventable, treatable illness. Our work is guided by evidence and compassion hand in hand; we're aiming to scale up one of the very best and most cost-effective ways to save lives in the world. You can read more about us here:
Our TB Shield programs in Pakistan combine facility-based and community-based contact tracing to drastically increase the number of people receiving potentially life-saving TB prevention medicine. We work with a range of partners on the ground to implement this work. There is already one highly successful program using the TB Shield model at a large TB hospital in Pakistan. Now we're funding a dramatic expansion in two provinces. We think there's huge potential in the TB Shield program in the coming years.
One of our Pakistani partners, Momentum Ventures , is now hiring a person to oversee all the TB Shield work that Spiro funds - that's where you come in
Why this role is specialWe're looking for a person to oversee all the TB Shield work that Spiro funds across Pakistan - working closely with government stakeholders and implementation partners to ensure TB Shield programs launch and run smoothly so TB Shield helps as many people as possible.
This isn't just another job, it's a chance to expand an exceptional program from the early days. Over time you could take over more and more responsibility for core TB Shield strategy decisions.
We don't require TB-specific experience — we're looking for someone entrepreneurial who really cares about helping others.
This role would be ideal for you if you're passionate about making a difference and you want your work to matter, you're excited about working alongside a small group of like-minded colleagues, and you're comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with lots of responsibility.
Even if you're not 100% sure you tick every box, please do consider submitting an expression of interest. We care more about your potential, attitude, and alignment with our mission than we do about perfect CVs.
What you'll do- Oversee TB Shield programs: Work with local implementation partners and government to set up new TB screening programs.
- Manage program performance: Monitor performance metrics across multiple TB Shield programs, spot issues early and work with partners to meet ambitious goals and maintain high standards
- Develop strategic relationships: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government stakeholders, hospital teams, and implementation partners. Represent TB Shield in meetings, discussions, and conferences as needed.
- Build an M&E team: Line manage Monitoring & Evaluation staff and take overall responsibility for their data gathering and quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate with Spiro: Work closely with Spiro's leadership team on TB Shield strategy for Pakistan including identifying promising opportunities to expand the program in Pakistan.
We're looking for someone who is deeply aligned with our mission and values, excited to help grow a high-impact health initiative in Pakistan, and able to work independently while staying well-connected to Spiro's global team.
- Strong understanding and alignment with TB Shield program's mission and approach.
- Passion for improving lives and delivering health services to those most in need
- Commitment to evidence-based, cost-effective health interventions
- Undergraduate degree or masters in any subject
- Excellent Urdu and English, written and spoken
- 1–3 years' experience in program management, health, development, start-ups, public sector, or similar
- Ability to work effectively across different organizational cultures including with Spiro
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems
- Digital fluency—comfort using tools like Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and project management platforms
- Self-motivated, hard-working, reliable and proactive
- Able and willing to travel within Pakistan (Punjab and Sindh provinces) to visit sites and partners
- Ability to speak other local languages such as Pashto, Sindhi or Punjabi
- Knowledge or qualification in medicine or public health
- Knowledge of or experience working with tuberculosis or community based health programs
- Experience of people management
- Real impact: Your work will directly contribute to saving lives through cost-effective and evidence-based health programs.
- Strategic influence: You'll have opportunity to input into TB Shield strategy and shape the way the program grows and expands across Pakistan
- Learning & development: You'll get regular feedback and coaching from people you work with who care about your development, and opportunities to take time to build skills
- Flexibility and trust: We care about outcomes not hours. You can work remotely and flexibly to get the job done.
