Overview

Job Title: Senior Ruby Developer
Location: DHA Phase 5, Lahore
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years
Working Hours: 6:00pm to 3:00am

We're looking for a Senior Ruby Developer to architect, develop, and optimize backend systems and web applications. This role requires expertise in Ruby on Rails, API development, and database management, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor junior developers while ensuring coding standards, scalability, and application reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain backend applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
  • API Development & Integration: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs; integrate with third-party systems and ensure secure data exchange.
  • Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize schemas, queries, and indexes in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
  • System Performance & Scalability: Identify bottlenecks, optimize code performance, and ensure systems are secure and reliable at scale.
  • Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; conduct peer reviews and enforce coding best practices.
  • Deployment & CI/CD: Implement automated testing strategies (RSpec, Minitest) and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work with product managers, QA engineers, and designers to deliver solutions; mentor junior developers and share technical expertise.
  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend improvements to system design and development processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Ruby Developer; strong expertise in Ruby on Rails for building scalable web applications; proven experience with API development, integrations, and backend architecture.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Ruby, Rails, and object-oriented programming principles; strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization; familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB); experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); strong knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
