  1. Logging and processing support calls
  2. Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  3. Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
  4. Setting up accounts for staff, ensuring that they know how to log in
  5. Solving password problems
  6. Talking to clients and computer users to determine the nature of any problems they encounter
  7. Responding to breakdowns
  8. Investigating, diagnosing, and solving computer software and hardware faults
  9. Repairing equipment and replacing parts
  10. Supervising junior engineering and technical staff
  11. Obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures, or fittings
  12. Checking computer equipment for electrical safety
  13. Maintaining records of software licenses
