Responsibilities
  • Analyze and process credit proposals and applications of MashreqBank's retail lending products, including escalation to Credit Supervisors within the stipulated TAT.
  • Ensure smooth implementation of front-end automation of credit processes across lending products, with improvements in customer experience and productivity.
  • Regulate all approvals within the Credit Policy and Product parameters.
  • Ensure consistent application of credit policy, quality of underwriting decisions, and documentation held as collateral.
  • Act as a reliable backup in the absence of the team leader/Asst Manager.
  • Contribute to the development of new staff in the team and assist in on-the-job training of new team members.
Key Result AreasCredit Analysis
  • Analyze for approval or escalation to higher authority: eligibility as per policy, bank statements, past data checks on systems such as Flexcube and Prime, and other applicable systems.
  • Measure, evaluate, and provide suggestions to improve the team's productivity.
  • Undertake various projects to increase unit productivity and enhance product and credit policy for retail lending products.
  • Participate in trainings, process improvement initiatives, and system changes for product/process betterment.
Exception Identification
  • Identify exceptions for eligibility, pricing, CPV, information capture in the system, and collateral compliance.
  • Communicate major deficiencies and policy violations to the Team Leader/Asst Manager for follow-up.
  • Categorize cases as 'Declined', 'Rejected', or 'for Deviation Approval' if checks fail.
  • Ensure daily productivity targets are met.
  • Ensure quality service to internal/external customers by adhering to the committed turnaround time.
  • Act as a first line of defense by exercising controls to book quality applications and highlight document anomalies in coordination with the Fraud Prevention unit.
Training & Testing
  • Actively participate in training and testing processes implemented by the quality unit.
  • Assist in on-the-job training of new staff in the team.
  • Be a key team player and maintain motivation levels within the team.
Credit Policy / Product Manual & Operational Issues
  • Identify anomalies in Credit Policy and Product Manual.
  • Recommend additions and modifications to Credit Policy and Product Manual.

Recommending improvements in operational procedures and risk areas from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Graduate with > 3 years work experience in a Credit Management environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office tools for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
  • Customer-focused and achievement-oriented.
