Role Description
This role focuses on establishing a comprehensive Operations Risk Management framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Operational Risk management and will work within the Risk team reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
Desired Qualifications
- 7-8 years of Operations Risk Management experience in the banking industry.
- Master's degree in finance, business, risk management, or a related field.
- Experience leading the development and implementation of operational risk frameworks and policies.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence at all organizational levels.
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools and techniques, such as risk mapping and scenario analysis.
- Experience managing a team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement enterprise-wide operational risk strategies and policies, collaborating with all business units and support functions. Responsibilities include reporting, assessing, measuring, monitoring, and controlling operational risks, ensuring practices align with policies.
- Develop and execute Operational Risk Management (ORM) frameworks considering risk gaps and levels within divisions.
- Prepare annual plans for Operational Risk Management activities and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Review and update policies and manuals to identify operational risks, map processes, and recommend controls.
- Develop and enforce operational risk policies, including Business Continuity Management.
- Monitor and report on Key Risk Indicators for various functions.
- Analyze and report operational loss events.
- Engage with central functions and branches to strengthen operational risk processes.
- Facilitate Risk & Control Self Assessments and verify their results.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks arising from operational risk events in daily bank operations.
