Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in our clinical laboratory. As a Charge Technologist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the section assigned to you, ensuring that all administrative and technical tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

You will have the autonomy to organize and coordinate the activities of your team, handle staffing matters, and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and policies.

We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and coordinate daily administrative and technical activities according to laboratory procedures and policies.
  • Run compliance checks for laboratory protocol and policy guidelines.
  • Handle staffing matters such as attendance, discipline, and counseling through random checks and as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication of critical results in a timely manner and documentation as per protocol.
  • Perform routine and STAT clinical laboratory tests or technical procedures and finalize reports according to laboratory protocols.
  • Create duty rota and authorize staff overtime.
  • Ensure compliance with CAP and JCIA standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Biological Science (4-year program) or Master's degree (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Senior Technologist at a hospital or equivalent experience gained at a healthcare organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and latest developments in Medical Technology.
  • Good knowledge of employee relations techniques.
