Customs Manager Position

The Customs Manager will oversee company records to ensure customs-related documents are accurate and compliant with regulations.

This role encompasses various responsibilities including:

  1. Compliance Management: Manage customs and trade compliance across the company, ensuring a thorough understanding of global regulations.
  2. Classification and Requirements: Determine Customs classifications and regulatory requirements (licenses, certificates, etc.)
  3. Regulatory Oversight: Ensure the highest compliance levels for all customs and government agency requirements across all staff and teams.
  4. Entry Auditing: Oversee entry auditing and reporting results and recommendations for improvement.
  5. Policies and Procedures: Ensure that controls, policies, procedures, processes, and applications are understood by the team and implemented accordingly.
  6. Internal Audits: Ensure that all internal audits are being completed and actioned as per client requirements.
  7. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to keep up with changing trade compliance policies, including attending seminars and conferences.
  8. Due Diligence: Perform due diligence checks on new customers when required to do so.
  9. Customer Authorizations: Ensure all customer authorisations are valid and kept up to date.
  10. Customs Authorities Interface: Manage the interface using customs authorities.
  11. Legislation Implementation: Assist in the implementation and control of new legislations issued from HMRC.
  12. AEO Assistance: Assist customers with their AEO/Applications.
Job Requirements
  1. International Trade Expertise: Excellent understanding of International Trade, Compliance, and Customs regulations.
  2. Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of BIS/ECO/EAR/ITAR regulations.
  3. Business Policy Development: Previous exposure to the development of business policies and process governance within an international business.
  4. Government Agency Experience: Previous experience in working alongside international government agencies.
  5. Export and Import Controls: An excellent knowledge of export and import controls is essential for this role.
  6. AEO Application Experience: AEO application experience would be beneficial for this role.
