Accounting Manager

This is a dynamic role that involves overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, excellent management abilities and fluency in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other accounting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions following applicable standards.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

People Management:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team.
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals and conduct reviews.
  • Foster a positive work environment.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development.
  • Communicate expectations and provide feedback.
  • Handle employee relations issues.

Financial Analysis and Control:

  • Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs.
  • Implement internal controls to protect assets.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Provide financial insights to management.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors and banks.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MBA in Finance or Accounting from a top-tier institute, preferably Karachi-based.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with relevant certifications may be considered.

Experience:

  • 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in management.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Understanding of US tax regulations.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
