Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and skilled professional who can shape the future of home services within a rapidly growing tech startup.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading distributed engineering teams, translating business needs into roadmaps, and driving execution. They will also have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a track record of resolving technical bottlenecks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of backend engineers to achieve high engineering standards.
  • Translate business needs into a quarterly roadmap and ensure alignment of estimates and architecture.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and maintain momentum on the roadmap and technical debt.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to design and develop new features.
  • Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and feedback.
  • Handle complex, high-priority technical implementations.
  • Oversee release and deployment processes to ensure stability.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and work to reduce errors.
  • Conduct meaningful 1:1s, mentoring and coaching engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in backend software development at scale.
  • Deep expertise in Java and Spring Framework.
  • Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and AWS.
  • Track record of resolving technical and process bottlenecks.
  • Leadership skills, preferably across multiple geographies.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
