Textile Acquisition Professional

The role of a Textile Acquisition Professional involves sourcing the finest materials and suppliers to maintain a seamless manufacturing process and ensure cost-effective productivity for their fashion brand.

Responsibilities include acquiring raw materials, fabrics & components, garment suppliers, and factories, as well as monitoring the entire production process from inception to completion. Analyzing this process determines whether to continue with the supplier or seek higher quality or more cost-effective providers.

Confirming contract terms, licenses, insurance, and liability agreements is also essential for each source used.

Key requirements for success in this role include understanding textile manufacturing, having strong international connections with suppliers and manufacturers, and possessing negotiation skills to secure the best price and delivery schedule.

International travel is a significant aspect of the Textile Acquisition Professional's role within any fashion/retail company, often based overseas close to manufacturing sources.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. In-depth knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and supply chain management

2. Strong negotiation and communication skills

3. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions

4. International business acumen and cultural awareness
