Role Summary

To operate effectively as part of a team, contributing to the academic environment through teaching, administration, and advisory work.

  • Meet targets set by senior management for effective performance.
  • Work towards ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with faculty workload policy.
  • Develop and enhance teaching skills, contributing to program planning.
  • Employ innovative strategies and facilitate experiential learning.
  • Challenge critical thinking, foster debate, and develop discourse and rational thinking.
  • Supervise projects, field trips, and placements where appropriate.
  • Set, mark, and assess work and examinations; provide feedback to students.
  • Maintain records of student progress for evaluation purposes.
  • Update data in virtual learning environments and software as required.
  • Integrate Islamic values into teaching practices.
  • Participate in departmental and university committee activities.
  • Align teaching content with institutional mission and address subordinate and student needs.
  • Monitor student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals.
  • Contribute to publications and disseminate research findings through media outlets.
  • Seek practical applications for research outcomes.
  • Promote knowledge through peer-reviewed publications.
  • Conduct independent research and project leadership.
  • Perform additional duties assigned within scope.
Key Responsibilities:

Teaching, Research, and Service:

  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Develop and teach new curricula and programs.
  • Engage in scholarly research and publication.
  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.

Service and Leadership:

  • Lead research teams and projects.
  • Contribute to university committees and working groups.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Represent the university at external events and conferences.
Qualifications:

Essential:

  • PhD or equivalent qualification in relevant field.
  • Proven track record of research productivity and publication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desirable:

  • Postdoctoral research experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development and teaching.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Fluency in languages other than English.
