Unit Coordinator Job Description
The Unit Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of nursing staff in assigned units. This includes coordinating patient assignments to staff based on care requirements and available staffing, ensuring timely completion of nursing tasks, and conducting regular visits to review patient conditions and assess care quality.
- Coordinate patient assignments to staff according to patient needs and available resources.
- Ensure that staff complete required nursing tasks promptly as per physician's orders, including medication administration, procedures, and diagnostic tests.
- Visit patients daily in assigned units to review their condition, assess care quality, and obtain feedback to address any issues identified.
- Provide Nursing Management with updates on patient care issues in assigned units.
- Foster a positive working relationship with staff and promote quality nursing care by maintaining discipline in assigned units.
- Collaborate with team members to implement effective use of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) in assigned units.
- Perform other duties assigned by HOD Nursing or Controller Nursing Administration or the Medical Director.
- Post-Registered Nurse B.Sc.N or B.Sc. General Nursing degree with at least 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting as Senior Nurse or Head Nurse.
- Registration with Professional Nursing Council (PNC) is required; specialization in ICU, ER, and additional diploma in Health management, certified for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Electrocardiogram (ECG) are preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills to lead and guide team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Urdu and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- This is a shift job covering 24 hours with periodic shift rotation.
About the Location: The job location is Karachi Division, Pakistan.
