Job DescriptionThe Solution Engineer role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless functioning of our systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and Troubleshooting: Regular review of CAT portal submitted trades data to identify discrepancies or issues. Utilize critical analysis and business knowledge to find the root cause using SQL.
  • Solution-Based Approach: Communicate with counterparties to take necessary steps in resolving issues. If the issue lies within our system, raise JIRAs to L3 and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Monitoring: Oversight of SQL jobs set up for various processes, including those running on AWS and other data center machines.
  • Coordination and Escalation: In case of issues, provide L1 and L2 support as some processes are time-sensitive. This includes coordinating with the development team outside regular hours to ensure timely fixes are deployed. If non-time-sensitive, raise a JIRA to L3 and notify the next shift for follow-up.
  • Participating in Training Sessions: Attend organizational training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Task Delegation: Delegate tasks to relevant departments and provide assistance when required.
  • FINRA CAT Issues: Register FINRA CAT issues with the FINRA helpdesk. Complete Self-Reporting forms issue-wise and upload copies on the FINRA CAT Issue Directory. Proactively follow up until issues are resolved and inform the FINRA Helpdesk upon resolution.
  • FINRA Inquiries: Respond to and resolve all FINRA inquiries whether initiated from the FINRA helpdesk or FINRA Market Regulation department.
  • Inter-Department Coordination: Coordinate with different departments to address FINRA queries, highlighting them for timely escalation.
  • Learning Databases: Acquire database skills and understanding of configuration processes.
  • Business Knowledge: Obtain business knowledge through intra-team trainings.
  • Proactive Ownership: Take proactive lead on all team-related matters.
  • Email Coordination: Maintain a proactive approach in email communications.
