The role of a Technical Support Specialist is to provide remote technical support on enterprise-level server and storage equipment for service calls opened by customers. The specialist will diagnose issues, analyze logs, create action plans for field engineers, and attend onsite interventions when needed.

Responsibilities

">
  • Work on various cases with different issues reported by customers, requesting additional logs and command results as necessary.">
  • Review customer-provided log files to begin diagnosing the issue and request additional information if needed.">
  • Create an Action Plan to resolve hardware issues, clearly designating steps to be taken by field engineers and spare parts required for repair.">
  • Ensure successful diagnostics and action plan creation within 90 minutes of receiving relevant information or escalating to L3 teams for review.">
  • Provide remote assistance to field engineers in executing action plans, supporting additional questions and issues that may arise.">
  • Interface with operations and accounting teams to ensure client deliverables are met and invoiced appropriately.">
  • Collaborate with sales and customers to verify customer requirements are within scope of services offered and technically feasible.">
  • Stay up-to-date on OEM guidance documents, operating instructions, and the state of the enterprise IT market.">
  • Escalate to management and work with a global team to resolve service delivery issues.

Qualifications

">
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS, MIS, electrical engineering, or a related field.">
  • IT degree may also be relevant.
">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">
  • Minimum 3 years of technical support experience in multivendor products such as servers, storage, and network equipment.">
  • Knowledge of multi-vendor servers, storage, and network environments (primarily CISCO, DELL, EMC, HP, IBM, NetApp, Oracle/SUN).">
  • Knowledge of system administration (UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows Servers).">
  • Networking skills (TCP/IP, DNS).">
  • Experience communicating with customers.">
  • Ability to extract logs from systems (e.g., Sun explorers, EMC SP collect, HP ADU).">
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues on the above platforms.">
  • Confident phone presence and excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.">
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.">
  • Fluent in English.
