Energy Efficiency and Conservation Professional

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Policy Expert in conducting policy research and analysis on various thematic areas of energy efficiency and conservation in Pakistan. This position requires an energetic, motivated, and creative individual who has a Bachelor's degree or is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in sourcing primary baseline consumption data for key sectors of the economy.
  • Review, update, prepare, and strategize follow-up on national energy efficiency policy in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop policy advocacy materials such as white papers, project impact evaluations, etc. to facilitate smooth acceptance and integration of expected energy efficiency policies.
  • Support in establishing robust energy efficiency standards, programs, and labeling regimes in the country to reap the benefits of low-hanging fruits of energy conservation.
  • Identify barriers to energy efficiency promotion and take necessary initiatives to introduce appropriate policy interventions to plug these barriers.
  • Work closely with the project team to develop energy and conservation policies.
  • Assist in establishing provincial/regional designated agencies.
  • Support efforts to set up Energy Conservation Tribunals by conducting research on frameworks in other regional countries where such tribunals have been established.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a reputable University recognized by HEC.
  • At least 3-4 years' experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the energy sector.
