Head of Legal Position

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Legal to lead our legal department and provide strategic guidance on all legal matters affecting the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional to take on a challenging role and drive business growth through effective risk management.

The successful candidate will have at least 12 years of progressive experience as a Legal Advisor in a public listed company or a large organization, with thorough understanding of SECP and SBP regulations. They will be responsible for executing key legal processes, managing a team of junior lawyers, and providing mentorship and coaching to ensure their professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Process Execution: Execute key legal processes related to drafting, negotiations, and commercial settlement of agreements.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of junior lawyers, encouraging their professional growth, and grooming them for leadership roles.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage legal risks within the business, providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on all legal matters affecting individual departments.
  • Compliance Review: Review financing agreements, undertakings, and alignment of the company's legal and compliance framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Litigation Support: Provide operational guidance to senior leadership on litigation issues such as contract disputes and product liability, influencing cross-functional teams towards a unified direction.
  • Negotiation Skills: Develop and maintain strong negotiation skills to negotiate transactional documents, including mergers and acquisitions, contract acquisitions, and service level agreements.
  • Documentation Management: Draft and manage complex patent, trademark, and regulatory documentation, handling matters with ease in a fast-paced business environment.
  • External Partnerships: Instruct and assist external legal partners in identifying potential legal risks and assessing issues impacting legal risk.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with departmental leadership to identify and manage potential legal risk, including review of existing employment agreements, contracts, and documentation.
