We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Estimator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs, as well as exceptional analytical and communication skills.

As a Xactimate/Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and supporting project planning and execution.

  • Prepare detailed estimates for fire, smoke, and water damage claims, including both interior and exterior damage.
  • Write estimates for emergency mitigation services and restoration work.
  • Collaborate with public adjusters, policyholders, and contractors to ensure estimates reflect the full scope of legitimate repairs.
  • Review and analyze damage reports, photos, and other documentation to create accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Analyze project specifications and blueprints to accurately estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimations by studying semantics and 3D rendered designs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for various construction projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial.
  • Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials costs, and construction methods to provide accurate estimates.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and stakeholders to address questions and concerns regarding project costs and budgets.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a construction estimator in residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
