Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care in the Medical Critical Care Complex.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • One year of post-house job experience in managing patients on ventilators and non-invasive ventilation in a critical care setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy (B.S.) with one-year house job in a recognized tertiary care institution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage assigned patients in the Medical Critical Care Complex with 200 hours/month duties across shifts.
  • Provide comprehensive ventilator management including airway management, oxygen therapy escalation/de-escalation, intubation, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, hourly assessments, blood gas sampling and interpretation, and adjustment of ventilatory parameters in consultation with a specialist.
  • Credentialed experience in arterial catheter placement.
  • Manage airway, assist with intubation, suctioning, and ventilator support.
  • Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy or airway assistance.
  • Maintain records of ventilator status, update daily functional assessments, extubation checklists, and incident reports for ventilated patients.
  • Document all spontaneous breathing trials and monitor parameters as per weaning policies.
  • Participate in educational activities related to airway management, suctioning, intubation, NIV, and ventilator settings.
  • Learn and assist in airway management procedures including intubation.
  • Ensure safe transportation of critically ill patients requiring ventilatory support both inter-hospital and intra-hospital.
