Import Payments Manager Role

As an Import Payments Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and operational controls for risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop awareness of the business strategy and model among relevant teams in Trade.
  • Establish and maintain internal standards and procedures aligned with International Trade development.
  • Lead daily team operations to maximize productivity and provide high-quality services to customers using various products and services.
  • Monitor and achieve set productivity targets (efficiency, accuracy, etc.) and processing turnaround standards within your area of responsibility.
  • Maintain full compliance with all laid-down rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, procedures, practices, and code of conduct imposed by the organization.
  • Report suspicious transactions, including those with Red-Flag alerts, to Anti-Money Laundering approvers.
  • Regularly monitor team morale and motivate subordinate staff to ensure optimal productivity and service standards.
  • Provide ongoing training to team members to enhance their knowledge and expertise in handling customer queries.
  • Review team members' performance based on agreed performance standards and objectives, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Responsible for making addendums to the Import DOI for changes related to processes, systems, or policies during the year.
  • Ensure adherence to bank policies and operational guidelines by team members.
  • Handle complex transactions escalated from team members or directed by the Trade Services unit while maintaining risk control.
  • Comply with Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy and Procedures, reporting suspicious transactions to AML approvers.
  • Promote a culture and practice of compliance adhering to regulatory requirements and ethical standards in business conduct.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and an inquisitive approach to practices and procedures on Anti-Money Laundering. Ensure personal authority, integrity, independence, and resilience when handling such transactions.
  • Conduct reviews to ascertain if transactions have any Anti-Money Laundering aspects and escalate to AML advisors as needed.
  • Mitigate Operational risk by identifying and reporting AML and suspicious transactions through attending AML-related programs and following checklists, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead by example, establishing the appropriate culture and values, setting tone, and expectations from team members, and collaborating with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development of people, guaranteeing that holders of critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles, with effective supervision in place to mitigate risks.
  • Responsibility to review team structure and capacity plans where applicable.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports, providing feedback and rewards based on performance against those responsibilities and objectives, where applicable.
