Job Summary

\

This role is responsible for managing the tax function within an organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The US Tax Manager will oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, as well as maintain accurate documentation to support these filings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation, with experience in preparing and filing complex tax returns. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team of tax professionals and collaborate with other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  2. Filing and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.\
  3. Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to support all tax filings.\
  4. Regulatory Adherence: Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with these changes.\
  5. Tax Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the company's tax position.\
  6. Advisory Role: Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.\
  7. Forecasting: Project future tax liabilities and assist in financial planning and budgeting processes.\
  8. Internal Audits: Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with tax policies and identify areas of risk.\
  9. External Audits: Manage relationships with external auditors, including the IRS and state tax authorities, and oversee responses to tax audits and inquiries.\
  10. Dispute Resolution: Address and resolve any tax disputes or issues that arise.\
  11. Leadership: Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.\
  12. Workflow Management: Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that deadlines are met.\
  13. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as finance, accounting, and legal, to ensure comprehensive tax compliance and strategy integration.\
  14. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review tax provision calculations and related disclosures for financial statements.\
  15. Analysis: Analyze tax data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions.\
  16. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax-related risks to the organization.\
  17. Systems Management: Implement and manage tax software and systems to streamline tax processes.\
  18. Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve tax processes and increase efficiency through automation and best practices.\
  19. Tax Policies: Develop and implement tax policies and procedures to ensure consistent and compliant tax practices across the organization.\
  20. Education and Training: Provide education and training to staff on tax-related matters and policy changes.\
  21. Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between the organization and tax authorities.\
  22. Representation: Represent the company in tax-related discussions and negotiations with external stakeholders.\
