Food Service Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our mess facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food handling, sanitation procedures, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mess staff to ensure efficient operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Menu Planning and Management: Collaborate with management to develop menus, pricing strategies, and promotional activities that meet customer demands and maximize revenue.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain sufficient stock and minimize waste.
  • Training and Development: Train and mentor mess staff on proper food handling, sanitation procedures, and customer service to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team effectively and make informed decisions.
  • Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as experience in inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills to maintain records and reports accurately and efficiently.
