Our organization is seeking a seasoned system engineer to join our team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance data platforms on public cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Databricks clusters, installation, maintenance, scaling, performance tuning, and cost optimization. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess expertise in multi-tenant installations, cloud environments, and using desired state configuration tools like Terraform or OpenTofu. Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor for monitoring and metrics is also highly valued. Furthermore, the chosen individual will contribute to automation-first initiatives, striving for maximum uptime and security.

Responsibilities


• Design, build, and maintain high-performance data platforms on public cloud infrastructure;


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data, System, Security, and Software engineering;


• Maintain infrastructure as code and review pull requests related to the platform;


• Optimize resource utilization, costs, and performance; ensure data isolation and multi-tenant considerations;


• Contribute to automation-first initiatives and strive for maximum uptime and security;

Qualifications

● At least 4 years of experience with Databricks infrastructure (installing, maintaining, scaling, performance tuning, cost optimisation);

● Experience with multi-tenant installation in Databricks is highly desirable;

● Experience of building, scaling, and maintaining data platforms on public cloud (preferably Azure);

● Experience with monitoring, metrics: Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor;

● Experience in programming and automation;

● Experience with cloud environments and using desired state configuration to manage them (Terraform/OpenTofu is preferred);

● At least 5 years in a similar role running workloads on public cloud;

● Knowledge of GitOps / ArgoCD is a plus;

● Comfortable with CLI-based tooling and maintaining/troubleshooting Linux-based operating systems;

● Proactive problem-solving attitude; not only reporting problems but fixing them;

● Strong communication skills.
