Corrosion Protection Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Corrosion Protection Specialist to assist in providing expertise in corrosion prevention and protection strategies on our pipeline network.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with government departments/agencies to obtain necessary permissions for CC projects.
  2. Perform maintenance and rectification of installed corrosion control stations according to specified standards.
  3. Apply coating and wrapping techniques to pipelines to optimize corrosion prevention operations.
  4. Participate in field tests including Pipeline Current Mapping, Close Interval Potential Survey, and Direct Current Voltage Gradient.
  5. Plan recoating/rectification of pipelines based on test results.
  6. Assist in survey, design, and data collection.
  7. Prepare charts, tables, and presentations for management.
  8. Design corrosion protection systems, including anode type, quantity, location, and other features.
  9. Install sacrificial anode systems for pipeline protection against corrosion.
  10. Implement policies and procedures for corrosion control and undertake required work.
  11. Prepare survey reports and findings on coating-related deterioration.
  12. Revalidate Pipeline Integrity Assessment and identify vulnerable sections.
  13. Plan and coordinate Root-Cause-Analysis and Fitness for Service assessments.
  14. Procure necessary materials and equipment on a timely basis.
  15. Monitor and check coating status on under-construction and new pipeline projects.
  16. Ensure compliance with Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Business Principles and Ethics Policy.Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering from HEC recognized university.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in Oil & Gas or Public sector.
  • Registration with PEC is mandatory for Engineers.
