Database Administrator

Job Description:

As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our data systems. You will support day-to-day database operations, perform database tuning, handle backup/recovery, and work closely with the engineering teams to implement best practices in database design and optimization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator, preferably on AWS Aurora
  • Hands-on experience managing relational databases in AWS
  • Familiarity with database automation, monitoring, and alerting tools
  • Solid understanding of database security and optimization best practices
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database concepts
  • Performance tuning and query optimization
  • High-availability and disaster recovery strategies (Aurora clusters, failover, backups)
