Job Description

The Communications Manager is responsible for leading the organization's internal and external communications efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement innovative communication strategies, utilizing various channels to enhance brand reputation and engage stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing workflows related to creative asset production, solid media relations skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with program teams to craft compelling narratives and success stories that highlight organizational achievements.
  • Conceptualize and develop high-quality content across social media, website, and digital platforms.
  • Expand the organization's reach by identifying new platforms and opportunities for outreach.
  • Coordinate communication campaigns to promote project milestones and organizational achievements.
  • Provide guidance on effective communication practices and ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Track, analyze, and recommend improvements to communication strategies based on data and performance insights.
  • Support the head of department in translating strategic objectives into actionable plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 8 years of experience in communications, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Experience with health communication in a public health context is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of internal and external communications
  • Solid media relations experience with exposure to issues and crisis management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
