A Compliance Specialist Role in Risk Management and Financial Crime Prevention


Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Compliance Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding financial institutions and customers from financial crime.

As a key member of our Risk Management and Compliance team, you will work closely with colleagues to anticipate and mitigate emerging risks, providing expert judgment to solve real-world challenges impacting our company, customers, and communities.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and document data relevant to alert triage, including transactional information, customer details, and other necessary details for investigation purposes
  • Analyze underlying data to assess whether alerts require escalation or can be closed as false positives
  • Document all alerts, including supporting data, analysis, and recommendations, within the case management system in a timely and consistent manner
  • Build relationships with colleagues and communicate effectively to enhance AML investigation processes
  • Collaborate with India and US teams to share knowledge and best practices
  • Process work items prioritized by SLA requirements and escalate issues promptly, demonstrating courage and integrity in decision-making
  • Establish and execute on annual development goals in conjunction with your manager and contribute to special projects, quality improvement initiatives, and other exercises

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree with 2-6 years of experience in Global Financial Crime Compliance
  • Familiarity with internal systems and processes or similar processes at other institutions, and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Self-starter capable of working independently, multitasking, and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environments
  • Result-oriented team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and develop well-reasoned recommendations
  • Adaptable to change and strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Adherence to industry standards, controls, and policies
