About the Role

The Strategic Development Lead will drive our organization's resource mobilization efforts to advance its Country Strategy Plan and ensure sustainable funding for impactful programs. This includes pre-positioning with donors, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, and driving proposal development to secure grants from institutional donors, foundations, and corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • This role works closely with Program Quality, Technical, MEAL, and Finance teams to design high-quality proposals that align with donor priorities and country program objectives.
  • Maintaining strong donor relationships, influencing funding strategies, and ensuring that learning from past programs informs future proposal development are also key responsibilities.
New Business Development
  • The Strategic Development Lead identifies, researches, and disseminates information on new funding opportunities from bilateral, multi-lateral, and other institutional donors.
  • Tracking upcoming funding opportunities, donor engagement, and proposal development process is essential.
Program Design and Proposal Development
  • This role leads and manages the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring alignment with global and country priorities.
  • Innovative, evidence-based programs that incorporate learning from past projects, best practices, and our Common Approaches are designed.
Staff Management
  • The position assesses capacity gaps and provides trainings for the New Business Development team.
  • Creating a managerial and operational environment within the team where the Child Safeguarding Policy is effectively implemented is crucial.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in new business development, resource mobilization, or fundraising within international NGOs, development agencies, or private sector entities is necessary.
  • A proven track record in assisting in winning bids and proposals for donors, corporates, and others is essential.
