Key Account Manager Sales Job Summary

This role involves managing key customer accounts, fostering long-term relationships, and identifying sales opportunities to maximize revenue.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong trust-based relationships with major clients to prevent them from switching to competitors.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of client needs and requirements.
  • Expand existing customer relationships by consistently offering tailored solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Maintain and grow current business within the assigned territory, meeting or exceeding company targets on a yearly basis.
  • Negotiate and close commercial agreements with customers in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Achieve assigned sales quotas on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Train and educate customers and their associates on our product line, marketing programs, and advertising initiatives.
  • Successfully manage bids and submissions.
  • Participate actively in regional sales promotion/marketing activities.
  • Apply relationship selling techniques to help customers grow their business with our solutions and services.
  • Solve customer product problems efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to resolve any credit issues.
  • Actively participate in Opportunity Mapping sessions with vendors and GNG meetings for vendor/product selection.
  • Update sales CRM records.
Requirements:

Preparation of weekly reports and quarterly review meetings is routine work, which should be communicated to higher management. Essential data recording systems are also part of this job.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's):
  • Knowledge: Must have extensive industry knowledge, motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Skills: Familiarity with our portfolio of solutions and products, as well as proficiency in MS Office. Strong account management and relationship-building skills.
  • Abilities: Reliable, responsible, dependable, and driven to exceed sales targets. Demonstrate sound judgment. Ability to manage decision influencers and makers at customer organizations. Present and win business cases within senior and top management executives.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification:
  • Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is required. However, candidates with an MBA or advanced degrees are preferred. At least 05 years of experience in a related field (System Integrator) is necessary. Candidates with more years of sales experience in IT (SI) will have an edge. Previous experience in account management or territory sales is beneficial, along with a display of attitude conducive to success. Managing major national accounts at head office level is also valuable. High self-motivation is essential.
