About the Role:

The Provincial Program Coordinator - Transgender Rights Expert will play a pivotal role in establishing a provincial working group/forum for transgender community inclusion in flood relief and response.

This individual will work as a convener of the taskforce, responsible for implementing the provincial reform agenda. A strong working relationship with the provincial government is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in building linkages and maintaining close liaison with relevant government departments, national and international humanitarian actors, and civil society organizations.
  • Advocate for a rights-based approach and inclusive operations within the current flood relief response.
  • Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, local government representatives, community leaders, media, CSOs, and humanitarian actors.
  • Implement communication and advocacy strategies to efficiently meet project targets and objectives.
  • Supervise and manage provincial-level project activities, providing technical backstopping to district partners.
  • Establish a provincial working group, coordinating with partners to devise inclusive policies and practices for transgender individuals.
  • Conduct meetings with multiple stakeholders for coordination and advocacy purposes.
  • Organize provincial consultations to bring stakeholders on board, advocating for policy interventions to ensure inclusion of flood-affected transgender communities.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Sociology, Public Policy, or a relevant field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in working with transgender rights, networking with stakeholders, and developing partnerships with civil society organizations.
  • Experience in organizing policy reform consultations, writing policy papers, and engaging with human rights stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience working with community and national-level organizations and networks.
  • Good understanding of program management and ability to lead initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Passion for human rights, including respect for diversity, integrity, and transparency.
