Senior Accounting Officer Role Overview

The Senior Accounting Officer plays a pivotal role in the finance team, spearheading critical accounting functions that ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This includes general ledger management, revenue accounting, and financial reporting.

This position requires a strong understanding of accounting standards and principles, with a focus on timely preparation of financial reports. The Senior Accounting Officer is responsible for overseeing accounting operations for assigned legal entities within the group.

  1. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger;
  2. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications;
  3. Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including the preparation of closing entries;
  4. Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation and review;
  5. Lead the revenue function to account for all revenue in accordance with company policies and guidelines;
Revenue Management Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer is responsible for reviewing and processing data to ensure completeness and accuracy in the Revenue system. They must determine and process appropriate contract updates, revenue adjustments, and other journals in the Revenue System and the data warehouse.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Monthly revenue close procedures, including preparation of revenue and deferred revenue related journal entries, reconciliations, and uploading transactions to Netsuite;
  2. Revenue and deferred revenue analytics and trends to provide visibility into relationships and drive revenue optimization initiatives;
  3. Partner with cross-functional business partners and third parties to implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements;
  4. Support revenue-related system implementations and perform user acceptance testing;
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. 3-5 years of General Ledger & Revenue accounting experience;
  2. Experience in revenue and sales analysis data;
  3. Strong working knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting - ASC 606 and IFRS 15;
  4. A thorough understanding of IFRS/USGAPP/IndAs;
  5. Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CPA/CMA) certification;
  6. Advanced Excel skills;
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  8. Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent tasks with deadlines.
