A Visionary Educator & Professional in Optometry/Orthoptics
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity is a call for a dedicated and visionary educator to join our esteemed institution as an Optometrist/Ophthalmic Clinical Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to research initiatives, and providing exceptional mentorship to students.
Key Responsibilities- Meet assigned annual targets set by the Head of Department (HOD) and contribute to securing a superior teaching environment for students.
- Deliver assigned courses according to faculty workload policy, fostering innovative teaching strategies and experiential learning.
- Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements, ensuring timely completion and academic excellence.
- Set, mark, and assess student work, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records of their academic performance.
- Execute mentoring of 15-20 students as per the Riphah Mentoring Program, promoting academic growth and personal development.
- Update data in VLE and other required software, adhering to university requirements and deadlines.
- Cultivate Islamic and ethical values in teaching, participating in departmental and university committees as needed.
- Ensure teaching content and delivery methods align with RIU's mission, responding to subordinate and student needs.
- Supervise/random check of student attendance in classes/labs/practicals, maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Contribute to publications or disseminate research findings through various media, seeking practical application of research outcomes.
- Possession of a Master's degree in Optometry/Optics or a related field.
- Relevant experience in teaching, research, or clinical practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in educational technologies and assessment methods.
- Sound knowledge of curriculum design and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
