Business Intelligence Developer

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that we have a reporting system with minimum downtime and maximum efficiency.

The core function of the successful candidate is to develop report environments, reports, and dashboards based on operational data stored in the data warehouse.

  • Develops report environments, reports, and dashboards based on the operational data stored in the data warehouse.
  • Defines database usage concepts, selects records, reorganizes data, and formats reports.
  • Exports reports, builds, applies, and removes report templates.
  • Creates complex reports requiring multiple parameters, summarizing data with crosstabs, using sections and section underlay for groups, and related report functions.
  • Builds specialized reports utilizing hyperlinks, dynamic graphic locations, alerts, and tools.
  • Utilizes reports servers to enable communication between DB and objects and generate report instances.
  • Configures the server to populate design patterns (value objects) with data/values retrieved from databases;
  • Schedules objects with calendars to create reports as required.
  • As part of an architectural team, creates reporting architecture and frameworks.
  • Participates in the design and development of various aspects of BO universes.
  • Configures the CMC and uses this to access content.
  • Adds to and changes objects in the repository.
  • Analyses BO Enterprise security model and creates security content such as users, groups, and categories.
  • Maintenance of error logs and Knowledge Base.
  • To be able to implement Self-Service reporting platforms.
  • Thorough business analysis skills to understand business requirements for development.
  • Supporting Business users on report development.
  • Enable Self-Service report platforms for users to be able to develop their own reports.
  • Ensure upkeep and update of the data models and universe on regular basis as needed.
  • Supervisory and admin role in Business Objects Server ensuring security and access are maintained.
  • Reports optimizations, tuning, and security maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years' experience in Business Objects support and development.
  • Solid understanding of financial services preferably Mutual Fund business function.
  • Solid hands-on SQL script writing for data extraction from Oracle, Sybase, and SQL databases.
  • Experience in Business Objects XI 3 / BO 4 minimum.
  • Solid experience on Data analysis, Modelling, and Universe design based on models.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communications skills in both written and verbal.
  • The job incumbent should be willing and able to work irregular hours and under pressure when required by the situation.
  • Logical, methodical, and systematic.
  • Ability to follow rules, processes, and procedures.
  • Self-disciplined with good concentration skills.
