Injection Molding Maintenance Professional

The Injection Molding Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the maintenance function of injection molding machines, molds, and related utilities. This role requires a strong expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems of injection molding machines.

This position involves planning, implementing, and overseeing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for injection molding machines, molds, and ancillary equipment. The successful candidate will minimize unplanned downtime through timely and efficient troubleshooting and root cause analysis of machine breakdowns.

To achieve this goal, the Injection Molding Maintenance Manager will monitor mold and machine performance, wear patterns, and cycle times to identify potential failures. Additionally, this person will work closely with the molding and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and recommend long-term solutions.

• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct regular assessments, and build a culture of ownership and accountability.

Key responsibilities include ensuring optimal inventory of critical mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic parts. Furthermore, this role involves maintaining accurate stock levels in coordination with PPC and procurement teams to avoid any disruption in maintenance activities.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering. A minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience in injection molding maintenance is required, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.

Additionally, the successful candidate should have strong knowledge of SAP/ERP systems for maintenance planning and reporting. Leadership and team management skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure quick and effective resolution of equipment issues to support uninterrupted production.
• Monitor mold and machine performance, wear patterns, and cycle times to identify potential failures.
• Work closely with the molding and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and recommend long-term solutions.
• Ensure optimal inventory of critical mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic parts.
• Maintain accurate stock levels in coordination with PPC and procurement teams to avoid any disruption in maintenance activities.
• Supervise the maintenance of auxiliary systems including chillers, compressors, dryers, and other injection molding support infrastructure.
• Ensure optimal utility performance with regular checks and timely servicing.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team with training programs and technical development plans.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct regular assessments, and build a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Enforce workplace safety procedures and preventive measures to reduce risks.
• Ensure all maintenance work is compliant with safety regulations, ISO standards, and internal SOPs.
• Promote 6S practices in maintenance workshops and service areas.
• Collaborate with the production and engineering teams on new mold or machine installations, modifications, and improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical insights during vendor selection, equipment specification, and installation.
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, including labor, parts, tools, and service contracts.
• Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdown history, and equipment performance.
• Ensure timely reporting of key KPIs such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and downtime hours.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Factory Manager or Technical Director.
