Support Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, answering billing inquiries and resolving concerns with empathy.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are patient, organized, and passionate about helping others.
Responsibilities- Answer inbound calls and respond to emails from patients about billing
- Handle questions with empathy, clarity, and professionalism
- Explain patient statements, balances, and insurance coverage
- Set up payment plans or escalate issues to the billing team as needed
- Update patient records and document interactions in Athena or other PM systems
- Maintain a friendly, respectful tone, even with frustrated callers
- Collaborate with billing/account managers to resolve patient issues efficiently
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a patient-facing or customer service role (medical billing preferred)
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- Excellent listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with AthenaHealth or similar billing/PM software is a big plus
- Comfortable working regular U.S. time zone hours
