The Payroll Associate plays a vital role in supporting payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee payroll.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Payrolls: Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls must be processed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Verify Timesheets: Accuracy of timesheets, attendance, and leave records is crucial for payroll processing.
  • Maintain Employee Records: Employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits, must be up-to-date and accurate.
  • Calculate Wages and Deductions: Proper calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and taxes is essential for payroll processing.
  • Respond to Inquiries: Employees may inquire about payroll issues, policies, and procedures; the Payroll Associate must respond promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare Reports: Payroll reports must be prepared for internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into payroll operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or HR is preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of payroll experience in a corporate or HR environment is desirable.
  • Payroll Laws and Regulations: Strong understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations is necessary for this role.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail are essential for payroll processing.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills are necessary for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Experience with multi-state payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS systems is preferred but not required.
