The Role of the Human Resources Generalist

This role involves administering employee health and welfare plans, acting as a liaison between employees and insurance providers, and resolving benefits-related problems.


Responsibilities
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Reconcile benefits statements.
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective action.
  • Administer the processing of terminations.
  • Conduct background checks of new hires and maintain records properly.
  • Assist with recruitment and interview processes when needed.
  • File documents into appropriate employee files (physical/electronic).
  • Assist or prepare correspondence as requested.
  • Perform HRIS related responsibilities, including records updates, timely entry of new joiners, marking terminations, etc.
  • Prepare new-employee files/folders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
