  • We are seeking an Assistant Procurement Officer to join our team in Islamabad.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting procurement activities under the Country Programme, ensuring compliance with UN/UNODC rules, regulations, policies, and strategies.

  2. Support the Procurement Officer to ensure that procurement activities are carried out in accordance with UN/UNODC rules and regulations."
  3. Prepare and monitor the implementation of procurement plans for the office."
  4. Maintain control over procurement processes, including issuing RFQs, receiving quotations, bids or proposals, evaluating them, negotiating contract conditions in full compliance with UN rules and regulations."
  5. Conduct procurement cases from start to finish under the supervision of the Procurement Officer."
  6. Manage procurement contracts."
  7. Implement internal control systems to safeguard purchasing data and retain records as per policy."
  8. Develop supplier rosters, elaborate supplier selection and evaluation, quality and performance measurement mechanisms."
  9. Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure delivery of services and goods that meet requirements and responsiveness to changing circumstances."
  10. Identify potential bottlenecks and issues timely and prepare documents for submission of prior approvals, import tax exemptions, sales tax exemptions, staff vehicle registrations and deregistrations, export permissions of personal effects and HHG."
  11. Follow up and close exemption cases with handover of certificates to respective entities."
  12. Follow up on delivery of goods and services and negotiate with vendors as necessary."
  13. Create purchase orders (PO) and contracts and place orders."
  14. Update COPAK procurement records."
