Credit Risk Manager Role

The Credit Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in credit analysis, identifying potential risks and suggesting mitigation measures to support strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across banking operations, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to evaluate risk exposure and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform due diligence to assess borrowers' cash flows, repayment capacity, funding requirements, and identify key business drivers and weaknesses.
  • Evaluate credit proposals to ensure alignment with business strategy while adhering to regulatory and in-house policy frameworks.
  • Maintain quality of the credit portfolio and mitigate associated risks.
  • Implement Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) frameworks to comply with national regulations.
  • Utilize probability of default/loss given default models and IFRS9 standards to calculate Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and develop risk analytics frameworks.
  • Track and report performance of risk strategies, including per-party exposure, sector exposures, and early warning signals.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and market trends.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Experience in credit risk management within the financial services industry.
